1.Hozier: Unreal Unearth: Unaired
The way all the artist’s influences blend seamlessly is amazing, whilst maintaining his own distinctive style. Elements from soul and Motown as well as rock are enriching the album and making it approachable to a wide audience.
2.Jeff Buckley: Grace
A true 90s gem. The music and songwriting is flowing amazingly, making the whole album dreamy and trippy. His voice is beautiful, raw and lyrical.
3.Stevie Wonder: Innervisions
A reminder that a singer songwriter is not necessarily a person with a guitar. This album is full of hits and every song tells a story in an intimate way, from ballads to gospel and groovy funk.
4.Patti Smith: Horses
The godmother of punk rock, with this album made rock and punk a genre that can be more intelligent and introspective, and laid the foundations for alt rock and indie rock.
5.Björk: Vespertine
This woman proved to the world that you don’t have to be an anglosaxon to make it, and you don’t have to be Abba either. I love this album because it strikes a great balance between a more subtle production and her powerful vocals than previous ones.
